When the evenings are getting warmer, you spend a lot of your hours to meet with friends drinking in beer gardens without the aid of garden heaters. Buying drinks in the pub that cost vast sums of money, putting dents in the bank account. What could be better news to your accountant than that of free music london? You feel as if you have earned the right to spend more funds on shooters of Tequila and Whiskey and Cokes.

Some people have decided that now they only go out once a month. In the capital, the price of pints has shot up in the last few years. You can go out in town and do a hundred pound without the time even reaching twelve a.m. There are still a quite a large amount of members of the public that go out without fail every single Friday and Saturday night but all of us would never turn down opportunities to hear some free music.

Kings Place are running weekly themed free music nights for young people. The styles of music run through all forms of desired music and less well known types too. The people that attend are vibrant and young. The night is supposed to cater for 18 - 40 year olds, but the age group that takes the largest chunk is mid twenties. As you go to more and more evening each week you notice the same people in the venue from weeks before. This is a great sign as members of the public just keep coming back. The genres of music change to suite different tastes, but the cliental tend to be diverse and want to experience something different. It cost nothing for entrance so one has nothing to lose in trying something one hasn’t heard before.

The most memorable evening to date was the Blues gig. It consisted of four artists from London playing bluesy rhythms that when you hear you just can’t stop moving your feet. RogerHubbard was by far the best in the line up. His songs were from a sixties era with chords that were both tuneful and dancy. The tune ‘Fighting That Jug’ was performed so well. A song about a drunk sung in an upbeat tone. They MC mentioned he will be back in the New Year so be sure to catch him.

This week coming up it is the theme of Punk music. So if that isn’t your thing, just go along anyway, you never know you might enjoy it, it is free after all.
