Sir Michael Caine won Visit London Awards sponsored by Virgin Atlantic. The awards celebrate the best of London and the accommodation providers, tours, restaurants, events and attractions. The ceremony was hosted by 95.8 Capital FM’s at the Royal Albert Hall. Among the guests, there were the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Breakfast Show Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowden and included an address by the
“London is the world’s best city”- said Sir Michael - “and I am honoured to be receiving this Award voted for by Londoners themselves,”
The Visit London Awards comprise of 14 industry-judged entries, ranging from Large Hotel of the Year to the Sustainable Tourism Award. Categories including Best West End Show and Best Restaurant.
The Mayor reinforced the message that London is a top destination for tourists and tourism is good to help the city’s economy. These Awards show the range and excellence of what the capital has to offer the visitor. Johnson thank the tourism industry for its hard work and congratulate all the winners on their achievements.
Recently the Mayor of London has also announced an increase of £750,000 to Visit London campaigns, to increase visits to the capital. Visit London has a big list of restaurants, clubs and hotels in London.
